Car: 1990 Camaro RS with T-Tops
Engine: 312 TBI(305) 0.040 over
Transmission: out of a v-6 s-10 blazer!
Need some Clarification
I need to know the diffrences between the v-6 and v-8 transmissions! ANYONE KNOW?
Here is what i have found out!
The torque converters ARE diffrent! the input to the pump for a v-8 is thicker than a v-6! (i wish i had a picture, but i didnt get one)
What does that mean?
What about stall speed? will it be a big deal?
The trans bolted up to the motor and everything spins freely!
OK thanks for your help guys!
I will be looking fwd to any help!

OK a little more info!
I bought the transmission off of the guy who did the machine work for my motor for $100!
He said it came out of an S-10 4.3 v-6 blazer!

I'm assuming these r 700r4's? I dont gaurantee this is still the case, but years ago I built a 72 Vega w/350hp 327, and used a th350 from a 229 v6. It worked, but later found out the v6 tranny had less clutches in the pak. after a yr or so, it started to slip, so on the advice of a freind in the tranny biz, switched from dexronII to typeF, which has a higher abrasive content. fixed the prob for a short time fix, anyway. I dunno, maybe it had sumthin to do w/droppin it in 2nd @55, floorin it, n goin sideways too often...ya think??
