flywheel for vin E and F different?? and disengag...

Hey guys why is it when you go to buy a flywheel for oir cars there is a different part number for the Vin E and the Vin F ??? I know there both 153 tooth so I don't get it... Also I can geta Motormite Flywheel at my work for $101 with my discount... Are they anygood?? Oh yea and istead of making a new post, If my clutch is releasing without the trans in then when its running with the trans in it shoudl still release right?? Also if its releasing enough for the clutch disc to drop down and i can wiggle it around then thats good?? thanks

Yes they are different. The low-perf cars with the grocery-cart motors and gears, LG4 and L03, got a heavier one, so the motor wouldn't tend so bad to stall when trying to take off from a light. The ones with performance motors, L69 & LB9, got a lighter, more performance-oriented one.

That's an OK flywheel, for a stock replacement one, if it's not cast out of chinesium. The quality control on cheap offshore parts isn't very .... consistent. If it's made in China, I'd look elsewhere.

Yes, sounds like the clutch is working right.

Make sure you reassemble the throwout bearing onto the fork correctly, so we don't have to read yet another "I just worked on my formerly functional clutch and now it doesn't release" post, and I have to post my famous pic of shame yet again.

I got the flywheel and its def different. It will bolt up and work fine but its thinner then m stock vin E flywheel thats been cut, But man its only 18 pounds and for 119 to the public its a steal... I am gonna return it because i took the hayes off and its thicker then all of them and super strong so I will just leave that one on. And for everyone talking about it only working with a hayes clutch, well i have a stock clutch and a hayes clutch at my house and they both look the same and will work with the flywheel and any other clutch should to cause its got a real deep pocket in the center... Yea I've seen the picture and am proud to say i have never done that lol... I called mike forte and hes sending me a new adpater plate cause the one i got its flat when you runa straight edge across it so i think the trans its cocked and causing the problem... we'll see...
