Help me decide swapping out T56 for 700r4 or t400

Car: 1991 Firebird
Engine: 427 LSX
Transmission: Turbo 400
Help me decide swapping out T56 for 700r4 or t400
I'm swapping my T56 out (entire package for sale btw) for either a 700r4, 2004r, or t400. The easiest swap would be to a 700r4 but I'm concerned that it will not get me where I need to go as far as strength. (low 10s, or 9.99)
I have spoken with every builder I can think of and 550-650 hp seems to be the absolute limit to the strength of a 700r4, no matter the beefing up done to it.
The 2004r seems to do a bit better (800 hp) with all the billet parts in the GNs, but I still see alot of guys in the low 10s swapping in t400s.
Does anyone want to sway me either way?
Also, the primary use of my car is a street/strip cruiser.

Axle/Gears: 9" ford 35 spline axles
I would go with the TH400 for strength. Unless you plan on drive it long distances. If it was a strip only car and lightened some I would say powerglide.
