This is my second engine rebuild, as my first failed miserably. Im looking at my Torque converter and my flywheel, trying to bolt them together, but they are too far apart. The bell housing is already bolted to the engine, and Im afraid to move the T/C because last time i hooked it up I fried the pump in the tranny. Anyone got any suggestions?

Slide the torque converter forward.

I had the same problem when I installed my tc. It wouln't slide forward either. Turns out the button on the front of the tc that fits into the crank was stuck and wouldnt move into place. It took a little tlc with a pry-bar to un-**** it and it slid into place.

Also, your flex plate is on correctly, yes/no? Not on backwards is it?

yes my flywheeel is on right. I was just being cautious becuase last time I hooked it up, I didnt make sure it could spin freely before hooking it up. It ended up not being in the tranny pump all the way, and fried my pump. This time I can spin it all the way back to the flywheel, plus I got some washers that the trannsmission shop put in there, so it wont have to go back so far.

just be sure the tc seats into the crank fully other wise it's not supported/centered properly.
