WOT late shifts!!!
When i nail the gas with it in OD or any other gear, the engine just raps out and you have to let off a little to get the thing to shift into 2nd gear. If you don't let off it just raps out around 5500-6000 RPM and stays there for like five to ten seconds....it seems, then it will shift. What do i need to do to adjust this? It is a 1992 Z28 with a 305 TPI and 700R4. Thanks

It drives just fine when cruising. It even does good at about 3/4 throttle. Just when you hammer it to the floor it sticks at or above redline for awhile then it will shift. But if you let off a little while it is sticking, it shifts.

Re: WOT late shifts!!!
Same thing happens to me. I had a post on it, but got no answers. I have adjusted the TV cable, and tried alot of different things, all with no benefit. First check the cable. With the engine off, and the trans in park, pull on the end of the inner cable. Mine only goes about 3/4" out then it feels really stiff. Like there is a spring on the other end that just engauged. I don't know if this is normal, but like I said, I got no real answers when I posted.
Adjusting the TV would obviously be the first step thought.

Re: WOT late shifts!!!
Be sure your TV is adjusted properly(there is only one proper setting). - Past that, most likely a sticking governor.
Remove round "bulb" cover on the tail housing. Inside you'll find the governor. Twist it out, then tap the pin out of the little plastic gear to remove it. Get the core out from the inside and use a good spray cleaner to clean everything and be sure it slides freely upon re-assembly.
Then be sure you're not needing a fluid/filter change before you start it up and push particle crap back into it.
