Manual valve body by tci

Im looking in to a manual valve body for my transmission... I have a 700r4 and was looking at them from tci.

There are two different ones
GM 700R4, all, reverse shift pattern 3760102 $401.63
GM 700R4, all, reverse shift pattern w/ full engine braking 3760152 $419.76

My first question is, what is full engine braking do? And is it always desirable? I am just wanting the car to be fun to drive around town and maybe take it to the strip every once in a while...

Then my next q is, On jegs they have the tci manual valve bodies which i posted bellow. There prices for which seems to be the exact same tci manual valve bodies that tciauto.com has are ALOT more inexpensive. Am i missing something here? Thank you for anyone that can help me with these two questions...

890-376010 Manual Valve BodyGM 700R4
Reverse Shift Pattern
Retains Lock-up Capacity
$ 275.99

890-376015 Manual Valve BodyGM 700R4
Reverse Shift Pattern w/full engine braking
Retains Lock-up Capacity
$ 326.99

Friend of mine has one from a different company in a TH350. Basicly when you let off the gas it just coasts like putting the trans in neutral. I'd imagine with the engine braking one, it'll act more like a stock trans when you let off the throttle. Price difference, TCI's site is probably listing full price where as Jegs is listing their own price.

Re: Manual valve body by tci

Thanks that helped, But there is no difference in product when comparing the one on jegs and the one on tci's right?

On tci it says: Kit comes complete with valve body, 6061-T6 aluminum separator plate, Corvette servo assembly and pressure regulator spring.

But when i go to jegs it gives me no list of whats there, i just assume its the same thing just a $100 cheaper, right?

Yeah, it probably keeps the Overrun clutches engaged or something for the coast, brake like when you select 2nd or Low now.

Re: Manual valve body by tci

if you are not going full strip then you wont be happy with a full manual valvebody, get a manual/auto valvebody it will give you manual when you want and still retain all auto features in drive and OD. mild mannered street with great strip performance.

The TransGo modified Performance Shift kit is offered in full automatic or full manual. It offers engine braking, and can be converted back to full automatic if desired. Comes with a Corvette servo, both boost valves, updated Viton seals, Torlon check balls, two new accumulator pistons, new accumulator pin for the 1-2 servo, tcc & governor filter, etc. Let me know?
