Toasted my trans
So, the title speaks for itself. During my first pass down the local strip my transmission started to slip in third gear and that was it. I drove home goin 15mph cause anything above that it would just slip and rpm's would just jump up like I was in neutral.
Anyway the trans was a 700r4 that was just recently rebuilt less than 3k ago. I'm going to try to get it repaired under warranty, then I would like to remove that trans and get a 350 turbo trans. My car is an 84 and I have removed the electronics and have a 30spline
My question is what do I need to put a th-350 in?
What size tailshaft do I need also?
Also, can I get a non lockup trans since my converter no longer locks up because I removed the cc carb and distributor?

Re: Toasted my trans
I am doing the same thing to my car but mines a 4 speed manual.
I've heard if you get a TH350 with a 9" tailshaft your 700-r4 driveshaft will work, you'll need a new crossmember like the one in the last post, and you'll need a way to mount the torque arm I am using a this one http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...5&autoview=sku or there is one that lets you reuse you 700-r4 tailshaft but I can't remember who makes it when I find out I let you know.
