Help with vibration

I am not to sure where to post this but i guess i will start here. I finally got my car running the other day after installing the fast xfi unit. the car sat for over a year before finishing the install. Durring this time i also replaced the clutch (mcleod street twin) and flywheel. I have a stroker motor and i purchased a external balanced flywheel at first. I started the car and i had a vibration at around 3k. I than relized that i had the wrong flywheel and than purchased an internal balanced one. Well the vibration is still there and its pretty nasty. What else could cause a viberation. Nothing else is different except for the clutch and flywheel set up. Do stroker motors take a different kind of flywheel??

Re: Help with vibration

Maybe the wrong damper is on the motor. There really isn't enough information in your post about the stroker to know where the problem may be. Internal balance, external balance, 1-pc, 2-pc RMS all make a difference in what parts are required.

Vibration can also be caused by the tune. Lean or too much timing will also cause problems with vibration/roughness.

RBob.

Re: Help with vibration

Thanks Rbob. Found out what the problem was. When you purchase a internal balanced flywheel, the flywheel isn't 0 balanced. I called and talked to the speedshop that built the short block and told me that even thou the flywheel is internaly balanced it still needs to be zeroed out. he says that he runs into this problem all the time when guys change out there flywheels. So i shipped out the flywheel today so hopefully i will be getting it back soon. Thanks again.
