B&M stage 2/ anybody got it?

I've got a 89 RS 305 . I have a b&m stage 1or2 shift kit. How does the stage 2 shift, is it too hard?, also is it a royal pain to put these in a 700r4?

Just some advise, DON'T PUT A SHIFT KIT IN USED 700r. I have a 89 formula w\700r when I put my kit in I put a B@M stage 2 and a corvette servo and it hit really good for about 5 miles, after that it tore up really quick. Well had the tranny rebuilt and had a trans-go stage 2 kit put in and it hits really great but I break hard parts, Drums, Sprags, Shafts, ect. So be really careful about what you do to a 700r, I have had mine out 5 times in the past 6 months. If you want a good 700r go to summit and get a TCI tranny, they hit GREAT and are backed by a warrenty. The answer to the other question about putting a B@M kit in....No the are not hard at all. All they do is block off the acculamators and you remove a few check *****, you also will put a new pressure valve in the pump, and put a block in the valve body. Very easy to do but beware. Next time my 700 breaks I am going to put a turbo 350 in and get it over with.
Hoped I helped,

Do NOT use the B&M 'kit'

Sure it's pretty easy to install, and the shifts are great for awhile before long the 2-3 shift starts turning to mush. If you decide to go with it beyond my advise (and others) don't drill the oil feed hole as big as they recommend. I think they give you a 1/8 (.125") bit... waaayyyy too big..

Go with a transgo kit, or just shim the accumulator springs, add a vette servo and .500 boost valve.

I installed the B&M Kit (had it before I knew about it from these guys), Stage 2, and no, the shifts aren't too hard. If you baby the throttle (normal driving), you'll never feel 'em.

Maybe I'll go with the vette servo. Thanks for all the input. Anybody else used this kit? Sounds like BAD news

Put it on E-bay and go buy a TransGo Reprogramming Kit.

My car has a B&M transkit in it. The tranny had over 50,000 miles on it when it was put it. It has since seen over 20,000 miles with no problems at all. Still shifts nice and firm 1-2, 2-3.
Just my experience.
