what's the difference?

I was looking at the Transgo shift kits and I was just wondering what the difference is between the reprogramming kit and the high performance kit? I was thinking about getting one, but which should I choose? If the tranny in my car is original it has about 160K miles on it. Is it a smart idea to install a shift kit? It shifts pretty good and I've never had a problem with it. Thanks for your help.

TransGo has used both names to describe the same thing. Here is why: They created and own the name "Shift Kit" and it is actually meant for every day transmissions. They were simply a 'kit' to fix how they operate and sold to the tranny trade only. Then they came out with a HP/HD kit that reprogrammed the tranny for this use and thus the name and it was eventually sold to the aftermarket and not just the trade. The problem is that people too often refer to other products as an SK so they decided to try and regain the brand name for themselves again by calling it a High Performance Shift Kit. Hope this helps.

That helped a little. I don't think my original question was all that clear though. What I was actually wondering about is I saw the reprogramming kit on a website for sale for $81 and the high performance kit on the same site for $105. Both said they were made by Transgo. I was wondering what the high performance shift kit had that the reprogamming kit didn't (the site didn't give a description). Here's the website. http://www.bulkparts.com/MM007.ASP?pageno=770
Thanks.
