Clutch Replacement Issue

So I picked up a Clutch set for my car awhile back, (1991 Firebird Formula, 305 TPI, 5 Speed) and I just got around to doing it today because the throwout bearing on the current clutch came apart. So I get it all disassembled, and as I'm getting ready to put the new clutch in, I notice that the pressure plate for the new clutch is too small. This was a cheap Autozone set up, P/N NU0056. Now, my question here is what the hell is up with that? The clutch disk itself, throwout bearing, and pilot bushing are all the same, the only difference being the pressure plate being to small. With the condition of the car, I dont think it would have an aftermarket flywheel. What part number should be I be looking for for a clutch kit? I'm currently looking at the Zoom clutch kit, P/N MU56-1. Has anyone else had this issue? I was kind of figureing that going to a parts store would provide me with the correct part. Any input would be appreciated. Really p!$$ed about this.

Re: Clutch Replacement Issue

well, autozone is not the best parts store in the world, most of their stuff is average/below average quality. they are like the Homedepot of auto stores.

its possible the clutch kit you received just has the wrong pressure plate in the box.

I have a zoom clutch, but its the kevlar race setup, not the organic one. I have had no problems, its been a really great clutch
