i think my problem is i want it to double down shift

information about the trans 85 700r4 1800 stall
rebuilt before i got it
was free from a freind
i have 3.23 gears
my tach is almost dead on verified with 3 after market tachs and test tachs

my wot upshift points are fine i have the v6 govener and corvette servo
1-2 around 44 mph at 5700 2-3 80 around 5500

my TV cable is set correctly

here is my issue im driving 15 mph floor it it downshifts into 1st correctly
if im doing 20-25 and floor it it downshifts into 2nd instead of 1st i can force it manualy by jamming it into 1st but really id like it to do it by itself

this also happens on the freeway

doing 55 mph and floor it and it shifts properly into 2nd and screams up to 80

doing 60 it only shifts into 3rd and takes for ever to pass someone
once again i can jam it into 2nd and it will shift but i would prefer it do it on its own

ive tried changing govener weights and springs this works but then wot shifts go way to high ie floor it in 1st and it wants to shift 1-2 @ 6500 no good with tpi and a 2bolt main
ive tried 4 differant stock goveners aswell 1 shifted at 4200 1-2 "but none changed the wot downshift points"

ive tried the b&m tv valve this cause me almost no downshifts so was removed and returned to summit

ive tried changing the tv spring with both a shorter and longer spring
longer helped a little but also caused delayed part throttle upshifts

ie 1st gear would hold till 3000 before shifting with light throttle and would do a very harsh bang shift
but did allow me to downshift back to 1st at 20 mph

i ended up replaceing the stock tv spring
car has a new "94" plunger and houseing "incase it was leaking around it"

ive tried differant shift kits only the harshness of the shift changes not when it happens

my old trans didn't have this issue but its case is cracked and not getting fixxed anytime soon

ive talked with trans shop guys and they tell me this is normal but dont tell me how to change it there willing to sell me a new trans that would correct this for anywhere from 1000-2000 dollars "also not gonna happen"

my other car has a 4l60E and it shifts correctly but i can also it edit its points with a tuner very simple.

my old trans was 91 4l60 non electronic it had no issues down shifting into 1st from 35mph and 2nd from 65 mph

ive tried swapping over everything that would swap just ended up with even worse shifting in the 85 trans so i put its stuff back on

what am i missing?

The 2-3 shift valve controls this somewhat, but you have the right one from your description. MTV up & down have an effect on this too. Call TransGo and talk to Dave and see what he would suggest here. 626 443-7451. Dana
