T5 and T56 Interchangeable Parts?
I have an auto car now with a cracked flexplate and have a full WCT5 Swap. Im weighing my options. Pull the auto and just replace the flexplate, or swap to a manual because I love banging gears. If I do go manual, it will be T5 until I can find a T56 at a decent price, or when the t5 blows up, whichever happens first.
My question is what exactly are the parts that will interchange between a T5 and a T56?
Heres a list of the things I would think would change over. All these parts are T5/3rd gen specific. Am I right to assume that these parts will work with the T56?
Pilot Bearing
TOB
Clutch Fork
Flywheel
Clutch/PP
Hydraulics (May need some modification to use in conjunction with 3rd gen pedals right? Shorten the rod?)
Pedals
Drive Shaft

Only the pedals and driveshaft will work between the T5 and LT1-T56.

Or, if you use an LS1 trans and aftermarket adapter plate/ throwout brg. retainer sleeve and new driveshaft and don't mind the shifter further back and add the Cable-X for speedo, you can keep the T5 bell / flywheel / clutch / fork / hydraulics.
(personally, I'd go w/ the LT1 trans.)
