It has the extra-wide ratios. Not nearly as desirable a transmission as the 94-97.
Also, has all those miles on it; basically the entire design lifetime of the unit. Which is not the same as saying, it's wore out or it's no good; only, no "shop" is going to put that in a car, and then warranty it. Doing stuff like that would be a good way to drive themselves out of business. Therefore, it's about worthless on the open market.
"Worth it" is in the eye of the beholder. I can't see through your eyes so I can't answer that.

In it's own right, it's a good transmission.
The input and countershaft main drive gears are narrower than the 94-up 2.66 1st / .50 sixth versions. This and the ratio of those two gears make it weaker.
Would I use one for the right price? Absolutely. If you don't need ultimate strength and aren't going to launch the car hard regularly, it's a good trans. If it's temporarily going behind a 305, it's a better option ratio-wise than the 94-up box.
Do you know the history of this high-mile box well enough to pay good money for it? Look into rebuild costs + $650 to determine your answer.
