Lakewood Bellhousing, Need Lakewood Fork?

I am installing a Lakewood bellhousing on my motor and the factory clutch fork seems too short. Do I need Lakewood's clutch fork?

Well when I have the clutch fork on, it sits too short for it to cover the pressure plate fingers all the way. What could be wrong?

Re: Lakewood Bellhousing, Need Lakewood Fork?

Which Lakewood model?
15020 for the hydraulic third-gens uses the 84-92 fork.
15015 for the mechanical linkage third-gens uses the Lakewood fork or the 83-down fork.

A Lakewood or 83 fork clipped into a 15020 wouldn't reach the throwout bearing properly.

The two tines of the fork need centered in opposing sides of the TO brg. groove.

Pics (on your part) might help.

Here is a picture showing how the clutch fork is, too short? It is the correct bellhousing for the hydraulic set up.
