700r4 Rebuild Kit

After going thru so many trannys for the camaro, I've decided to try and learn to rebuild them myself using a rebuild video from Pro Built. I had my 700r4 rebuilt 6 months ago and is already going. Everything after 1st gear is pretty much gone. Any good advice for what kind of rebuild kit I need or who to buy it from?? How about any tips or tricks I need to know about. Im not building for any racing applications...just a daily driver. This will be my 7th tranny in 14 years. Thanks in advance!

Well you could go with one of the kits from ProBuilt himself...

I've got em from here before, with good results

You could also check PATC

Re: 700r4 Rebuild Kit

I would love to have a rebuild kit from pro built but don't have the money. Has anyone tried a kit from Autozone? Would that have all the parts I needed? I'm still trying to figure out exactly what rebuild kit will have everything i need but still in my price range...couple hundred bucks give or take. Thanks

No idea whether AZ even sells such things.

So, how about those other 2 places?

Re: 700r4 Rebuild Kit

Save your money and buy a better kit. A half-assed kit will build you a half-assed trans.

I bought my kit here : http://www.trutechtrans.com/

I bought the "Complete level 2 master kit" and added billet second and fourth gear servos and a corvette governor. Not cheap but it should handle serious power.
