Upgrading '92 rear end
I have a 1992 RS with what I believe is a stock rear end. I want to upgrade to 3.42 or 3.73 posi. Is it easier to just replace the whole rear end or the guts of the one already in the car.
Thanks

Re: Upgrading '92 rear end
definitely easier to replace the whole thing. If you're not mechanical, setting up new gears can be somewhat involved, and paying labor plus parts to rebuild yours will be probably around a grand depending on...

Re: Upgrading '92 rear end
That being said, I'm in the same boat as the OP. I think the quickest and cheapest way to give my L03 the boost that I want is to give it some better gears than the 2.73's. I'll probably end up doing it just so that I know I won't end up buying a rearend, then having to replace it all down the road anyway.
