Trans swap...which tail size do I need?

Trans swap...which tail size do I need?
Have an 85 Iroc Z28 with 87 350 with a 700r4 trans. Just converted from TPI to carb and want to run a turbo350 trans. Reason being the 700r4 is electronic and wanted to go to 350 vacuum trans. Question is what size tail do I need a 6 or 9 inch tail on the turbo 350 trans? Or do I need to measure the current trans to find out? Any help would be great thanks

Feel free (or at least, real cheeeep) to verify
Never hears of an "electronic" 700-R4. You must have the only one.

Hey I'm no mechanic...I get it. Lol the guy who did the carb conversion said something about it not being vacuum controlled but runs on the computer which is still in the car, but now lacks the sensors since the swap. I do appreciate the help. Thanks

The 700 is not electronic, except for the torque conv clutch. Shifting is entirely hydraulic controlled. But rather than the logical and most suitable choice of vacuum to measure actual engine load, for some reason they used that silly cable thing.
Sounds like the guy you talked to doesn't understand it.
All you gotta do is replace the lockup function and hook the cable up to your carb. Go here www.tvmadeez.com for all you could ever possibly want to know about it.
