700r4 question/issue
Short background...
2009:
85,000 trans goes out.
Rebuilt original in lieu of a replacement.
Car has 88,000 now. So 3000 miles on trans.
Ok to my question...
I do not know if it has always done this or not. I have noticed the shift indicators are a little "off" but I know what gear I'm in by feel.
I'm in the midst of a reprint and the car is on stands, wheels off. While working, car in park, I notice the rear wheels can still be turned by hand! Why? I'm hoping it's as simple as the linkage needing adjusted as its just not locking in Park.
Once the job is done is going to the local speed shop who has a third gen nut to burn a chip and check it over. Just curious if you all have any ideas.
Thanks!

Disconnect your shifting cable at the transmission. The move the shifting lever on transmission into park. Now put shifter all the way into park. Adjust the cable at the transmission to line up with the shifting lever on the transmission.

Adjust your shift cable. It's likely not allowing the lever on the trans to go all the way into park. You can disconnect it at the trans and throw the lever all the way forward to verify that it will lock in park.

Re: 700r4 question/issue
When under the car, shifter in park, you can move the lever on the trans forward. I figure that's the problem. I'll adjust it.
I was just wondering if I was missing something but I figured that's it.
