Problems with my transmission
I have an 89 Camaro with what i believe is a 700r4. I have been having problems since i bought the car and honestly getting very irritated with it. First off the car lurches very badly when i put it in drive or reverse but ive noticed if the car warms up for a while before i take off it doesnt seem as bad. My next problem is the car shift extremely hard at normal driving. Like the line pressure is building up alot before it shifts. I have tried to adjust the tv cable the proper way and even adjusted it many different ways by hand and still cant get it to where i want it. Its better but still nowhere close to what i want. The last problem is after it shifts into any gear after 1st midrange throttle i hear a high pitched zinging sound but it doesnt do it at full throttle or very light throttle. Im getting very irritated with the issue. I like having the overdrive(when it works) but im not sure its worth having all these issues. The whole tv cable concept is really dumb in my opinion and i think if i have th money im just ging to swap it out with a summit turbo350. Anyone have any thoughts on that transmission or any insight to what i can expect from it?

Re: Problems with my transmission
Maybe it has a shift kit installed? The 1-2 accumulator springs are notorious for failing, resulting in a dramatically lazy 1-2 upshift. And the best fix is a solid spacer. Which shift kits offer. Before you go investing a grand, start by investing $5 in a replacement spring from a local transmission shop and replace that yourself. It's easy. If it turns out it wasn't the problem, well at least you'll have changed the fluid and filter, you can probably return the spring for a full refund, and you'll have a better-seeming transmission to sell toward buying your TH350

Re: Problems with my transmission
maybe the governor needs to be rebuilt. Or replaced with an original one it could be an aftermarket part some down syndrome put in the trans at some time causing high shift points.
