Any 9-Bolt Disc Brakes Tips or pointers?

Just picked up a 9-bolt disc brake rear end for $100 from a 86 or 87 trans am, rotor to rotor, except calipers, is there anything that I should look out for, like weak parts and what not. and what kind of upgrades can i do, like drilled rotors or aftermarket calipers, or posi or locker units and which companys i should use. Also, is it just a straight bolt in? lol

id like some that i can bolt on and not worry about or have to adjust every so offen, the car this is going into is my spring and summer car, kinda like the hop in and go appeal the car has.

Yup - straight bolt in.

Depending on the brakes you do end up installing - you might need to replace the existing E-Brakes cables.

Brand new (rebuilt) stock replacement "iron" calipers for that rear end are about $50 each @ Autozone. There are also many aftermarket suppliers for vented or slotted rotors that are a direct fit.

There are also many ways you can "upgrade" the rear brakes too !!
