4.10 gears!!!
Over this past weekend I did a little swapping from my factory 3.23 gears and dropped in a set of Motive 4.10 ring and pinion, a strange 28 spline posi unit and 2 brand new Moser axles. By far the best investment I've made on the car. I'm running these with a 700r4. so at 65ish I am running around 2400rpms. Also with this swap I picked up 1.5 seconds at the strip this weekend as well. I am now into the 13.9 bracket. It run 13.90 @104. So for anyone out there debating 4.10s or something other, they are definitely worth it.

Re: 4.10 gears!!!
I'm trying to decide between 4.10's and 3.73's in anticipation for when I install my T56. Hearing some horror stories though about the 4.10's easily breaking under harder abuse do to being thinner. I think they'd work a lot better though with the 6-speed. Glad to hear you're enjoying them!

i have 4:10's (gm gears) in my v6 turbo car with over 340 rwhp and 450+rwtq the thing dead hooks on a 28x10.5 slick needless to say the 4:10's have been in that car for many years never broke, i did on the other hand bend and twist a lot of axles also had a spool in the rear end
cars an auto though
with a stick if u dump the clutch and u have sticky tires on it the chance of them breaking goes up alot from the shock abuse
on the other hand i have seen guys with an auto and less power break them very easily , anything in the 10 bolt is a gamble , some never break , some last a while others break the first time

Re: 4.10 gears!!!
I doubt this car will ever see slicks although I am running 315/35/17's on back and would like to do some road course/track days with it eventually. Read some storys of the 4.10's shattering b/c of the thin ring gear. 3.73's are nice, but feel the 4.10's would really compliment the T-56.
When I was making my decision with the 4.10 gears I was thinking that I didn't want to leave anything out there. I kinda felt that if I went with 3.73's that It would keep me wanting more. But I was also considering getting a set of 4.56's lol. With my 700r4 it's pretty sweet. I no longer feel the want to have a manual trans. The take off is amazing.
