Th350 no drive
Have a th350 trans, was driving along today in drive, heard a clunk metal noise and seemed to go into neutral. Was able to get it home manual shifting into low. Got home let it cool down, pulled the governer and the gear is metal and is not broken, the vacuum modulator is hooked to manifold vacuum. only a few drops of fluid came out when I pulled the governer. The thing is Reverse works good, and low gear works good, problem is when I put trans in drive or 2, it doesn't move. I can hear and feel the gear engaging. But the truck doesn't move, can feel it wants to move but can't quite do it. also when in drive there is a noise like something not completely engaged or something metallic rubbing not too loud but definetly a noise. It's an old trans but has been working great, has a new filter and pan gasket. Rear Output shaft has a small leak. Time for a rebuild? What else can I check without pulling it out?

Re: Th350 no drive
It sounds like the direct drum took a dump. Time for a rebuild.

Re: Th350 no drive
I was under the impression that the direct drum is only used for third gear which would be direct drive, second gear is also not catching. I'm not a tranny tech though lol thanks for the input though I am also thinking something internal
