Clutch master cylinder U bolt- options?
I'm in the process of converting my 89 trans am from Auto to T5 and I dont have the U Bolt for the clutch master cylinder to bolt it in place. No luck with GM Direct parts or anywhere on the internet, seems to be discontinued. I'm considering bending threaded rod to make one. Any better options?

Just use 2 bolts.
Nothing about the application requires the "U" feature.
Only reason I can see the factory used what they did, was that the labor savings in assembly, more than offset the cost of the weird hardware. Go visit a vehicle assembly plant someday and you'll understand. I HIGHLY recommend the one in Bowling Green KY. After all, if you're going to watch vehicles being assembled, they might as well be Vettes.
