few questions about rebuilt tranny (downshift mianly)

I had my tranny rebuilt with transgo kit (stage 3 shift kit, vette servo, boost valves and what not), vigilante 2700, and filled her up with amsoil. At any rate, when in "D" and automatically downshifting from 2nd to 1st, it usually hits pretty hard. As hard as up shifts under throttle for that matter. Really does not do it at all with in O/D however.

In a different matter, the 2nd to 3rd shift under partial throttle is "different" than than the 1st to 2nd shift, I suspect this is due to the vette servo ?? Under full throttle, it shifts really fast (not extremely "hard" due to the stall speed and 3.27's) between all gears which is what I wanted.

Thanks guys

If the TV cable is set on the tight side (the part throttle shifts will be later than they should be) this could possibly be the problem. If the Trans-Go kit was installed (as is) without addressing the accumulator problem (common with most shops) the 1-2 part throttle shift will be very firm if not objectionable, and with the Trans-Go Performance kit the 2-1 downshift can/will cause this. This problem can be rectified by installing the Trans-Go Junior Shift kit ($25.00-$30.00). Just follow the band adjustment setup and 2nd gear accumulator setup, you will need your original 2nd gear cushion spring that was removed to install the Trans-Go 700-2-3 Performance Shift kit. If this to much of a problem (you do not have the spring that was in the 2nd gear servo and/or can not locate the Trans-Go Shift kit Junior), call me and I will help you out on this. 800 7763288 M-S 10-6 PST or e-mail me on this probuilt1@earthlink.net

your the man . . . thanks. One last question, is this going to cause premature wear or hurt anything ? The car probably gets 3-4K miles a year so I don't have to deal with it all the time and will probably just back the TV cable off a tiny bit and leave it - as long as it is not hurting anything.

I think Pro Built and I are on the same page with this. I do not use the solid Servo setup that they give you in the TransGo Reprogramming Kit unless it is a strip only car. It is not the upshift that bothers me but the manual downshift. It can easily lock the tires up and this could lead to a loss of control very easily. As Dana suggested the TransGo Jr. SK has the better Servo setup. I use either that or the full TransGo Shift Kit if I need improved shift timing.

hmm, thanks and good point. The downshift is somewhat "hard" but not "that" bad. If it were to the point of possibly causing a dangerous situation I would certainly remedy the issue. I could see it being a problem should I ever try to drive the car in messy weather conditions however.
