Done Search and nothing. Please read. (regards 700r4-th350 swap)
I have searched for this info and found little. I found the basics on the swap but didnt find exactly what im looking for so, please read and help if you can.
To do this swap, i know you need the B&M swap kit, so you can reuse the stock drive shaft.
My question is about wiring. Is there anything you have to modify about the wiring? Or any cables that need modified? The ECM has been removed and its a '86 Z if that makes any diff.
THANKS FOR ANY HELP

From your previous post, I thought you were getting the TH700 going.
But...
Unless you have a long tailshaft 350, you cannot use the '86 TH700 driveshaft - it'll be 3" too short.
The B&M torque arm kit is okay, I suppose, but the Spohn TH350 kit puts the torque arm to the crossmember where it belongs. More expensive, of course, but quality costs.
You will need a kick-down cable to the carb instead of the TV cable, and a vacuum line from the intake manifold to the vacuum modulator on the tranny. Speedo cable shouldn't be a problem, but the chances of it being properly calibrated are pretty slim.

Well I cant make up my mind!! It sounds kinda complicated to wire up a TC lock-up kit/ toggle switch. But it also sounds complicated to do the TH350 swap. So im kinda weighing them out.
Can you just put in a non-lockup TC in the 700r4 and not worry about wiring any crap?
Thanks for the info!!

your car will be slower off the line with a t-350, why do you want one?
y do you have to wire a lock up for a 700 that you already have?
it wont hurt the tranny if it doesent lock up, just be sure to put in a tranny cooler

Yea, but the TH-350 has better gearing going into 2nd.
I think the kickdown cable off an '82 w/Th-200c wo/Crossfire will work. I know I did a 200c - 350 on both my Camaro, and TA - and the camaro cable worked fine, as far as my TA, it's got a manual valvebody sorry. You might just get a general kick down cable, cause know they sale those for the throttle cable with different lengths. Check Summit or Jegs.

So, I could go with a non-lock up converter and not have to worry about any damage? As long as I get a tranny cooler.
What is going to feel like with no lock-up and a 4th gear?
Im really leaning towards staying with the 700, just getting as much info as possible...

You can do away with the kick down cable & vacuum modulator hose(just cap it).
If you want a little softer shifts during part throttle, you can leave the modulator hooked up. As far as the kick down cable, theres no need for it sence your controlling all the shifts.
That's of course you get a FULL manual valve body conversion, like the B&M manualpak.
The first thing you'll want to do, if your a do it yourself, is get a book called 'TURBO HYDRA-MATIC 350 HANDBOOK' by. Ron Sessions, publish by. HPBooks. You can find it over at summit racing, or your local book store might have it.
