oil spewing
help!!! i put a brand new distributor in my 1988 2.8 firebird, , i just started it, and i have oil just spewing from somewhere and i can't see where, and i don't mean a couple drops either, i mean a lot of oil, help guys, i am trying to get her back on the road, after being parked in my yard for over 6 monthes.

what area of the engine is it coming from? make sure the new distributor had the proper o-ring installed and that it is completely seated.

86BLUEBIRD is correct, make sure the O-Ring was not undersized and that it is correctly on. That will definitely cause oil to spew from the back of the intake manifold and drain down the back of the block.

Transmission: 700R4 with OD
Axle/Gears: 10 bolt 7.625 open-factory 3.42
Sounds like the o-ring on the distributor shaft is missing. The factory part number is 10477565. Go to the nearest GM dealer and get one. Install it and you will solve your problem.
