Man your car is clean! I'm lovin' the s10 rims!
If I were you, I would turbo the v6, install subframe connectors, lower it, and swap in a rebuilt 5 spd. Of course that's assuming you can do a custom turbo setup yourself. If not, pm daves12secv6 and see if he's still selling his turbo kits.

Um, 5678ta had the most honest answer. What are your goals, what condition is the car in, how old are you, what experience do you have in driving?

Personally, if I was young and could do things over knowing what I know now. Id make sure the car was solid and good tuneup, then save the rest for a house or better college degree. But since I assume you want to spend it on your car, you could possibly buy a whole new car for 3k if yours isnt what you really want (motor, t-top, vert, etc).

Im looking to have more of a cruiser btu sumthin that i can have some fun with aswell. That car is in great condition. Has a rebuilt 3.1 that was put in this past october. Im 24 yrs. old and this will be the 1st car that I have done any MAJOR mods to. I see now that my quiestion was kinda bland. I really just wanted opinions on what people's FIRST mods would be. Dave's turbo kits were already on my list as I have an '88 sport coupe that I will be doing a V8 swap with.

BoostedV6 - Thanx for the compliment

Hmm... maybe i should mention this $3000 is in Canadian bucks (LOL). Whatever, (if anything) is left, will surely be spent on liquor and ******...

ok, just something to cruse in.

looks.. I see the body is in good shape, and has the wheels I wanted.

suspension.. Maybe lowered? Have the swaybar bushings n endlinks been replaced? TQ arm and transmount ok?

Inside.. no torn seats, tunes you like?

Engine.. Id make sure the timing chain is good. Install the LB8 dual snorkle intake, msd coil, maybe a crank pully depending on the cars power options.

I was thinkign ouf loweitng sprongs but there are no words to describe how bad the roads are here in Toronto and I dont think my butt nor the underside of my car will appreciate the harsh ride. Bushings and endlinks didnt even come to mind, thank you. Torn seats? Goodness no! Interior is mint - just as good as the outside. The turbo install is a nice thought but is intimidating for a newbie like me. As far as stereo stuff goes all i need now is a nice sub and amp but i dread adding more weight to this already hefty feeling car..

*I was thinking lowering springs (forgive the typo's)

If you have someone to help you. I'd do either a turbo swap or a 350 V8 swap. I know if u look around you can pick up a used 350 for around $500.

you can't go wrong replacing everything that wears on your suspension, new shocks, new balljoints, bushings, engine mounts, trannymounts etc..

Suspension above all, then turbo that bad boy, adding a turbo before suspension doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me, but of course if you could care less about handling or anything like that, then yeah turbo all the way or you could spend that money and buy yourself a Mustang 5.0, about 220 horses stock, and you could get a nice one for about that price range, thats assuming you like mutangs at all.

I can tell you who NOT to send money to for a "turbo kit".........

Seriously? If I was 24 again and had three grand I'd put it in a CD or something!

Im pretty certain im not just gonna go out and buy a V8 Camaro as both of my cars are in great shape. plannign on doing a swap on one of em later on as a father/son (and annoying older brother) project. Seriously i think i should buy on of Daves turbo kits now since i have the money cuz i dont think i'll be disciplined enough to save another large chunk of money and really with the suspension mods I can more just do a bit at a time...
