hollowed cat-do i need the o2

Car: '92 camaro rs
Engine: 3.1 v6
Transmission: stock tranny
Axle/Gears: stock gears
hollowed cat-do i need the o2

my cat is hollowed out on my 92. and my 02 looks like its never been changed does it matter if i change it?

All O2 sensors are upstream of the cat on my 92, so it is still needed. Replacing it with a new one couldent hurt either.
