Flowmaster catback sounds mean and loud when hot, tinny and hollow when cold.. why?
The subject says it all. It sounds rather weak when cold, but after a long drive, it sounds brutal as hell. Loud, deep, no trace of hollowness. It's a 3", 2 chamber, single in/out catback. I'm also running a high flow cat - before I had the cat, it sounded hollow all of the time.

because it needs to warm up. kinda like your engine doesnt perform well when its cold, your exhaust doesnt perform well when its cold.
