Bolt question.

I finally decided to replace the water pump today. After taking off the power steering and ac to get at the last two bolts for the waterpump I noticed alot of rigged bolts. Either bolts that are to short, long, a million and one different sizes, torx, metric, standard. Im wondering if there is a list of what type of bolts go where cause as of now whoever did work on this engine before me decided to put some extremely long bolts on the ac assembly and they are being supported by what looks like threaded garden hose washers.

Any lists or websites would be great or even a store that might help.

Re: Bolt question.

Bump. Sitting here with my water pump off is no fun. Oh, and are the bolts for the water pump normally torx? Every picture ive seen has the regular hexagonal bolts.

Frustrated beyond belief at this point.

Re: Bolt question.

Well its not just one ALL of them are torx. Go figure. Im just gonna got to a scrap yard and pull some off another v6. Then either use those or at least have the right sizes to replace.

Re: Bolt question.

Ok, so the lovely folks at napa helped me out. No one had any sheets of exact bolts so i brought in a couple of the rusted ones and got a brand new set of stainless bolts.

4 hours later, new pump installed, ac delete and a nice new serp belt. I was worried about overheating since the fan doesn't like to kick on but with all new rad hoses, new rad and new water pump the engine stays at a cool 160 unless idling for over 10 minutes. I think I did something right for once. Thanks to all who helped in previous threads.

EXCITED!!!
