Re: CONVERSIONS FROM F.INJECTION TO CARBURETOR

What possible reason could you have for getting rid of the fuel injection?

Second, the factory carb intakes are J U N K. Get an Edelbrock (ONLY aftermarket intake manifold available for the 60* V6) with the 4-barrel carb adapter if you insist on swapping to carb. You REALLY don't want the tiny E2SE carb clogging the intake more than the stock throttle body already does.

Re: CONVERSIONS FROM F.INJECTION TO CARBURETOR

That's the thing...

EFI needs no after the fact adjustments, on the engine the ECM was tuned for. Just regular maintenance, such as plugs, wires, cap, rotor, filters, etc. Every now and then you need to clean out the IAC passages, and even lees commonly an injector or two.

What is it doing or not doing that makes you say it has never worked well?

^Right. Before you trash something that isn't the problem, let us see if we can help you out. It might be a 5-minute, $20 fix, rather than the hassle of a carb swap.

Re: CONVERSIONS FROM F.INJECTION TO CARBURETOR

For example, each time a new issue ...
never starts at the first start, the yellow light always stays on the SERVICE ENGINE SOON .. sometimes it is off the car while traveling, and then last thing you can not adjust it at will as a carburetor classic.
On the advice of my mechanic, we decided to tear away all the electronics that we do not need and put a carburetor. I have already contacted and advised the Jegs.com pieces to install in my car.IM TOOO HAPPY!!.Now well my car will set as muscle car easily.Wow!My friend get all a muscle cars...
that is our team and our cars.Im only to have a pontiac firebird 91 v6.
here like u can see there is a few of all 50' 60' 70'.
My genious mechanics is RAFFAELE nickname the KING. lol
check it out.

Re: CONVERSIONS FROM F.INJECTION TO CARBURETOR

Get an air fuel ratio meter so you can perfectly tune the carb.

Re: CONVERSIONS FROM F.INJECTION TO CARBURETOR

Also: fuel pump. Carbs run lower psi.

Did you have the code read? It will tell you what is wrong...
Just be sure that the hard starting and other issues will go away with this swap. Yeah, in your case it kinda makes sense to do the carb swap, but it would really suck to spend the time & money going carb only to still have those issues....

Re: CONVERSIONS FROM F.INJECTION TO CARBURETOR

u also need a fuel presure regulator

the fuel injection runs at 40+ psi

the carb runs at 5-7psi

Re: CONVERSIONS FROM F.INJECTION TO CARBURETOR

u can keep the fuel pump if u buy a bypass fuel presure regulator

or if u put in a pump that is made for the carb u dont need the regulator

Re: CONVERSIONS FROM F.INJECTION TO CARBURETOR

You also need a vacuum advance distributor. The factory Dizzy you have will not work with the carb swap. You can get a vacuum dizzy from an older S10 or S15.

Re: CONVERSIONS FROM F.INJECTION TO CARBURETOR

actually I did this swap 2 years ago I used an 83 s10 carb, intake and distributor. you should not have to mess with the front accessory brackets at all im still running my factory 1987 accessories. I will be glad to answer any questions you might have
