City gas mileage of 1985 Firebird V6?
Thinking of getting a Firebird with a V6 engine as a daily driver, but I do mostly city driving within a 15 mile radius of my area, mostly stop-and-go traffic. What kind of gas mileage can it get, and how can it be improved?

According to the government You should get 16 MPG city. But that's when the car was new. Now? I dunno. I'd say 14-15. The V6 doesn't get as good of mileage as you'd think and the Iron Duke is worthless.

Depends on how you drive and condition of everything but 16 give or take sounds about right. Best I can get is about 16-17 town and 22 cruise.

with an auto 15/16 should be doable , with a stick 17/18
a few mods should be able to pull down 20-22mpg
my automatic turbo car pulls down around 22/23 in town and 32+ on the highway
i belive fast eddis turbo car is also pulling down something like 18/19 in town and 25-28mpg highway
best advise i could give u for a v6 car to get better gas mileage is a full tuneup and swap the rear gears for 4:10's if u u do not do alot of highway driving
yes the 4:10's make the engine rev higher but they have a mechanical leverage advantage in stop and go driving , they get the heavy car moving with much less throttle aplication , so it takes much les spower to get the car moving and upto speed , once crusing it takes alot less throttle to maintian speed
