V belt replacement help please!
I'm trying to replace the v belt on my 1986 2.8l Firebird and I dont know what to loosen to get the new belt on.
The V belt is on the crank pulley, water pump and power steering. I can't figure out what loosens/swivles to get the new belt on. the old belt just came off because it was so stretched.
thanks in advance for the help

Re: V belt replacement help please!
The adjustment is on the power steering pump. The water pump and crank are bolted solidly to the block, you're not gonna move them. IIRC, the adjustment is on the back of the steering pump. If you look on the back of it, you should see a bolt that goes through a slot in the backer holding it to the block. You'll have to loosen the bolt(s) on the front of the pump a bit to make it easier to move.
