Best luck with headers.

Which headers have you had the best luck with. I mean, like that just bolt on without any cuting, bending or grinding of any parts of the car. I have a 87 Z lb9, auto, A/c but its out of the car. I need to get into in 14's I'm stuck at 15 flat right now. All my mods are in my sig there are only a few bolt- ons left. I'm looking for anything that slips right in.

SLP has the best shorty header setup on the market. This is opinionated but I have the 1-3/4 inch off road on my car and they work great were an easy install and look even better.

TES edelbrock headers. alot cheaper than SLP's and can flow better if u do mild porting inside the header.

I just put Edel's TES headers into my brother's 86 IROC a couple weekends ago, and I have had a set in my 87Z now for awhile. Install was pretty straightforward, hardest part was getting all the emissions crap and stocker exhaust manifolds all out of the way. Dropping the headers in on the drivers side took some trying, I thought I was going to have to jack the engine up a little to get that side in there but finally got it. The TES install did not require any grinding, welding or anything that required any special tools. However it did take awhile and wasn't exactly fun. Only welding you might want to do is to have the y-pipe welded to the cat once you get everything together. I just used a 3" clamp on the 86. Oh yeah if your stock cat is welded on and you plan to reuse it you will need to do some cutting and/or welding there.

Headers would be a great mod for you at this point, in fact probably the best mod at this point (you need some gears too pretty badly though). The headers should really knock off several tenths I would wager.
