Hooker Super Comp model #2055 is a direct bolt-in and fully emissions legal. They have 1 5/8" primary tubes, the air tubes, O2 sensor bung, (heh, heh, he said "bung") Y-pipe with 2 1/2" tubes merging into a 3" tube, and I think even some cheesy gaskets (don't use them). I didn't have to jack my engine up, remove or change the engine mounts, remove or move the steering column, or get anything welded or expanded. It took me a while to get them installed since it was my first time, but I've never regretted getting them. You can see pix at:

the 1 5/8 will be fine. i have them on my 406 and it runs pretty hard. you will probably lose low end power with the bigger primaries. i don't see why everyone thinks they have to have the big headers on their cars. maybe people have been reading too many magazines.

Loved my hooker shorties. 1 5/8" with 3" collectors. $117 through summit when I bought them a few years ago.

Past Thirdgen:
86 Trans Am w/ built 355TPI with SLP goodies and too much other stuff to List. One sweet *** car, wish I would have had a good enough Job to pay insurance on three cars so I could keep it, but for a 89 Turbo Trans Am w/ Low miles, I think I made the right choice!
