What kind of exhaust did you put on, did you just get a stock replacement kinda thing or aftermarket high performance stuff? Best bet would be to make sure you are tuned up, like Mark said.... oil,oil filter, air filter, fuel filter, plug, plug wires, distributor cap, rotor, etc. etc. I use mobil 1 supersyn 5W-30, but I might go with 10W-30 next time. It depends on how much your engine leaks if you want to try using it or not. I have 161K and switched to synthetic without a problem. Stay away from penzoil, and fram filters. If you got a high performance exhaust, and your car is already tuned up, I'd probably get an open element aircleaner. Some nice chrome job with a K&N

What about plug wires, the condition of those.

Changing the tranny fluid/filter will be a good idea to , if needs it.

Also, be sure to make sure the tv cable is adjusted properly. Search the tranny board for directions.

Most people say MSD Superconductors.... but when I got my car fixed at the dealer, i got a new set of the stock stuff for free.... so I can't justify spending the money to replace already new wires... I'd get the Superconductors though.

TORQUE CONVERTER

nothing beats it for they money spent. you can get a S10 converter that stalls approx 2500 (1000 over stock) for about $200 direct from GM. its a 12" lockup unit just like the one found in your car. if interested the part number is: 24202310. expect to drop anywhere from 2-5 tenths depending on current mods. almost all the L98 guys on www.corvetteforum.com use this converter with good results

Do the expensive plug wires really make any difference. My friend had a 91 firebird and said those spiral core (i think thats the expensive one) wires made no difference. He said "like the quad fire plugs, its just a hoax."
