yet another megashifter question

Hey everyone,
OK so I installed my megashifter last saturday and I love the ratchet action. The install went pretty well, no big problems. However now when I downshift the entire console moves up.
I know other people have commented on this before I just wanted to know what you did to fix it cause I will NOT be able to live with it.
I am pretty sure that the bracket is all the way back to the metal piece that is in the console(not sure what it is called) so I doubt I can just slide it back further.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

That's pretty funny, 'cause when I shift my Quarter Stick all that moves is the shifter. LOL

I had thought about the quarter stick but it would have hit my cd player when it was in park. I am happy with the shifter aside from the console thing.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I think what you mean is when you down shift, the front part of the plate lifts up. That's what mine did when I put on. All I did was grind down 2 of those clip type nuts, like the ones used to secure speakers to sheet metal, and put my torxs screws in. Now when I shift, the plate doesn't move at all and I can remove the plate when ever I feel like it. Hope that was the answer you were looking for!

Or do you mean that when you down shift, the whole shifter comes off the floor?

I did what CraZ-28 did and don't have any problems.

What happens is the console not the shifter moves up, except it isn't just the plastic plate it is the WHOLE damn thing. The pieces that go up next to the heater controls, radio, etc just shift up about an inch when i downshift.
What I think I am gonna do is drill new holes to mount the shifter to on the bracket in the back and just slide the front bracket back more. Hopefully this will fix it.

I just moved the shifter slightly to the right, and ground a little off the piece of the shifter that hits the console. I'd forgotten about that little mess!
