PowerMax 2032 good DD cam?
Hi everybody, so I recently bought a 305 off of craigslist to for my 87 firebird 6 months ago. Unfortunately, I was unaware of what engine knock was/what it sounded like, and realize now that it had been knocking the whole time. I suspect the problem was partially the cheap 87 octane fuel I put into the motor, along with the brake fluid from my broken master cylinder which I found when pulling it apart. I am having a local accredited engine shop handle the build this time, but In that same craigslist posting, I managed to pick up a Powermax 2032. I am unsure as to if this cam is used or not, however it certainly looks new. So, the question(s) I have are:
1) Is this cam too lopey for a daily driver
2) SHOULD I get a higher stall TC (I was thinking about 2000 RPM) and DO I NEED a higher stall TC
3) Being that I got this cam pretty much for free and don't know how much use is on it, should I trust that the cam isn't trashed? (The man I got it from built race motors, but he essentially gave it to me for free, and it seems too good to be true)
4) Would this cam leave me stranded somewhere/is it reliable
Thanks for all the help!
