i think some of the people around here are forgetting that the evolution is not a body kit, but a kit car package. it is meant to create something new, not accent the original lines. would i do it to a perfectly good 3rd gen? no. but it is original and does look good if you dont think of it as a 3rd gen, but its own enitity entirely. but, it is an all around project. to leave the stock interior and wimpy 305 would not be giving this project 100%. now updating it with a 4th gen interior or the evo interior, along with a healthy ls1 setup to bring its power up to its "exotic" looks would be doing this setup justice.

but just buying the kit and slapping it on is not the complete project. be prepared to spend a few more bucks.....

a guy around here has this "kit" for his car.... apperantly either he didnt know what the hell he was doing, or the kit is a cheap rip off. Because his doesnt really fit to well. there are gaps between the panels, some as big as 3-6 inchs. he has zip ties and screws to hold it in place. it looks alright from 300 feet or so, but any closer and you can tell that its a POS. He takes it to the drags some times... never runs it though, i guess he is afraid of the panels ripping off.

There is a bodykit out there

Actually Designfx in Edmonton Alberta, Canada makes a complete body kit for the third gen camaro and firebird. You can check it out at www.fxdesigns.com

Okay. How can you even say an American Manufactured car is ugly... except Ford.

But I would consider doing it if I had a junked thirdgen just sitting and rotting. The way I see it, Giving and old car new life is love. There are two ways to accomplish this:
1. Completely rebuild it from the ground up and making it your own and running it.
2. Taking a brokendown car and putting such a body kit on it.

Dont get me wrong, I would NEVER do that to my Camaro, and never do anything like that to my Lumina either. But if had another camaro, Id harvest parts off of it for my RS and then convert it. Then I'd have my cake and eat it too. I love Chevrolet and especially my thirdgen, but if I had another camaro sitting and rusting I'd do it.

i would not wast the money on it i mean if it was like a $1000 kit and didn't have anything better to do with your money then do it but only if it wasn't one that you have already fixed up or if it was a really nice car in the first place.i would put it on one that you are planing to fix up if you could find the kit for cheaper.

I'll second that. It appears the GM styling department has been eating paintchips since 92.

Again, this is the heart of American hot rodding. It saddens me to hear people calling guys like this r!ce, because, this is how it all got started. Take a history lesson. Dudes who tore apart and chopped, tubbed, and welded their cars together, apart, and into pieces to make the most custom ride they could afford. (ric*rs aren't much different from american hot rodders, their cars are just sold by the squinties)

i doesn't matter who likes the ferrari kit and who doesn't because they only made 50 of the kits and then sold the molds so no one is gonna have this kit unless you find a car that already has one on it. i think the kit is stupid why disgrace an american legacy and make it a fake italian sports car. if you want a ferrari then buy one dont ruin the chevy heritage by fakein a junk sports car. just my opinion, by then again what do i know.

In my opinion the evoluzione is a hot kit but not for a slick third gen that doesn't need a kit to look hot....

I must be missing something I couldn't find the word "Camaro or 3rd gen or even F-body" anywhere on that sight. Why do you think this is a kit for a Camaro?

I wanted to build a kit car and decided building one out of a GM F-body was just the ticket. I've always been a Pontiac fan. I get a cool looking car and a hot rod project all rolled into one. They only ever made 50?

and this last one mentions the "sniper kit" http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=36475

The kit in the widebody link is the Danko Inferno, not a sniper.

you took a beautiful American car and turned it into another import. Now you can fit in with all the other import in this import world. A sad day when some one wants an American car turned into a import.

I've actually wanted the wide body kit on the gray car for quite some time. It saves the original line of th e car, just beefs it up a little...none of those wild ***** curves and mesh.

an improvement over the firebird, yes, the camaro, i don't think so. does anyone know where to find a decent body kit for a 91 rs? i don't want anything ridiculous like that just something subtle. clean and simple but different than stock

I dunno. The widebody offered by www.americansportscar.com is really tempting. add a 572 big block to have need for such wide tires...

Personally I'd consider the wide fenders and quarters for the hardtop 5 speed IROC I'm after, however it would also be an open road race car so the handling increase would be phenominal

gm made great body kits. i heard u could get em with the higher option cars like the irocs and trans ams/ gta's.

styling so beautiful it was like the kits and the cars were designed together!

Re: Camaro Body kits for 82-92

I'm all for a nice kit. Up here rust takes cars quickly and buying all new fenders would be a silly thing to do for a car thats still just gonna be a $500 third gen. I suppose she could've just been crushed instead, some of the people on here may have prefered that.

I'll have to post some pictures once I'm done. Me and my ****** got a little carried away and cut the roof off to put on a T-top roof. Not a bad undertaking for a ***** like myself. :P
