Is this stuff for real? (PIC)

Are these 2 products for real? I find them very very hard to believe. But I still wonder! anyone seen them "really" tested? I don't believe the HP gains but hek, anyway to save gas this summer is a good way with prices still rising.

This has been tossed around a lot in the past and the consensus is save your money.

I see that you found those in a JC Whitney catalog. My motto:

If it's from JC Whitney, it's probably crap.

Aaron87SC is right on. JC Whitney is the poor mans Summit Racing. I don't believe any of the claims that they make. They don't race, have a dyno or have anyway to test these products like Summit and Jeg's. Gas is rising so save your money.

ok. my dumbA$$ friend bought one of these for his IROC, he paid an extra $20 for shipping, and he paid like $60 for the piece, it turned out to be a 22 gauge peice of scrap steel bent and cut so there were the angles inside (propellers) and it had the name of the company scratched in.. i bet it cost them $.15 to make. it was soo funny. he sent it back because we all made fun of him. and he didnt see a real increase in power!

so dont do it.. its crap!

Don't be a sucker. Neither of these do anything but make you $100 poorer.

yeah i wasn't planning on putting down 60 for a piece of metal that reminds me of a pinwheel, I just found them interesting, and wondered if anyone had seem some 'real tests' of the products, like by someone who isn't trying to sell them lol

"Car and Driver" did a test on that Tornado crap a few years back. If I remember correctly, all of the test vehicles(there were 3) lost power and 2 of them had decreased fuel economy.

I'm surprised that no government consumer protection agency has shut these shysters down yet.

I saw the infomercial last night for that stupid tornado.. I really hate infomercials like that.. They had testimonials like a lady with a 4cyl saturn saying "The gas milage is much better and also I am one of the fastest cars on the road now, it really made an incredible difference".. They just make me sick..

Then they take (i guess it was a chevy malibu?) a car over to their so called "dyno machine" (that has 2 meters and goes up to 250 hp? What the hell, like no car is faster than 250 hp???) . At first it reads 202 hp.. Then they slap in the miracle tornado that "spins the air to get a better fuel/air mixture".. What do you know, it reads 220 hp. 18 hp from this? Yeah, right.

None of these gimmicks really work, the most they will do is make you psycologically think that you've done something to better your gas milage.

They don't make any product they sell so I wouldn't make comments like that, it shows you assume too much and everyone knows what that means. JC Whitney is a re-seller, all the stuff in there are ads. If it sounds too good to be true it probally is.

BTW, I have bought carpet from them, excellant product.
