Looking at CompCams XE268
I am looking at using this cam for my L98 and was curious if anyone new what the price was for the cam, cam/lifter kit, and the cam/lifter/1.6 rocker kit (if one is offered)? Also, has anyone used this cam and if so, what were your impressions?

i use this cam on my carb'd 383. it has very good idle quality and is good through the hole rpm range, i would recomend it. for my setup i wish i would have gone with a little bigger cam.

Thanks for the reply.
Is there anyone who has used this cam with a TPI or SuperRam set up?

I used to have one in carbed 350. The one I had was not a roller cam however. If there is a roller cam XE268 variation (I thought I heard they were going to make something similar for roller) AND you had intake work it would be OK, mine pulled to 6k easy, really strong from 3k up. The LS was 110 on mine, this might not be good for the tpi also.

JJ the lobe seperation of the TPI version of the XE268 is 114 so I should not have a problem.
Has anyone else used this cam before preferably in a TPI application?

Comp Cams XE268 is talked of highly in Chevy High Performance magazine. I've seen them use it in a couple mild 350 engine build ups. In one instance swaping the stock cam of a goodwrench 350 mouse to a XE268 made a difference of a 100 HP!
As it is, I'm considering this cam for my setup, but I'm not sure how much is would cost to swap cams. Probably not cheap.

lil insight
i usesed a massive cam in my stock 350 tpi setup still running the 305 chip and injectors heres the spects on my cam that i had in it
it was an erson race cam grind number e110521 hi flow2h 1.5
it goes as followed
intake lift .472 intake duration 306
exhaust lift .472 exhaust duration 306
intake opens 45 deg closes 81 deg
exhaust opens 81 deg closes 45 deg
overlap 90 deg
intake lobe c/l 108 deg
lobe sep. angle 108 deg
i was running 1.6 crane long shot roller tip rockers so i had .504 lift i belive
it ran like a top but i had no brakes i had to install a vacumume canister for the brakes and then i still had to hit it to nutral and tap the gas to stop quickly

I love the cam, installed it a week or so ago. Nice lopey idle, I'll have GTech results some time.

I'm not taking the car anywhere till I get these rockers adjusted, the roller ones slid off cause they weren't SA.
