Guys i've read all the stuff you've written about the Hypertech Chip and everything else, but i really didn't see anything written about how much H.P. they're "suppose" to add??

 

what kind of car do you have? if its carbed, dont even do it. i have heard that they add little to nothing. i dont think a chip is something that adds a lot tho, maybe 5 hp. i have seen many people complaining of chips, k & n filters, performance distributer caps, wires, and pulleys not being cost effective upgrades. sure, pulleys for 70 bucks might add 5 horsepower and screw your charging system up, a K & N for 40+ can add a couple more, wires maybe a few more for 25 bucks+, a chip for 200 bucks adding 5-10 more horsepower. for all the money you have spent, you might see a 15-20 hp gain, when for a few hundred bucks, you can get some nice headers, gears, or a catback that will show a more significant improvement. i think that these little mods are for people who dont want to tear an engine, exhaust, or differential apart or who are done with their car. just my 2 cents tho.
