K&N Open Element Installed..now what?
Hello Everyone,
I'm a newbie to the site, so if this has been asked/answered before, I'm sorry.
I've just installed a K&N open element air filter onto my 1990 RS 305 TBI, and am very pleased with the results.
As recommended by others on this site, I've made sure to reposition my coil to avoid contact with the cleaner base.
What I don't know now is what to do about the engine breather
.
There's not a lot of real estate in that location, and the old pipe looks like a black groundhog standing on its back legs sunninig itself.
Can others please tell me (or show pics...even better) of solutions they have used?
Any help will be appreciated.
Thanks, Al

I have carb on mine, but what I did was go to pep boys or autozone, and got a push in breather for about $5. I was going to get a cool air filter looking breather, but wouldnt fit with all of the wires. I just got that push in one and stuck it under the wires

Absolutely correct!!!
Get a push-in style and use a new grommet to avoid leakage. I would suggest the shielded open element or the enclosed element, as the oil will attach itself to the filter and if dust hits the oiled filter, it will stick and cause clogging. You can get them at most auto stores, be sure to bring in the old neck to get the proper diameter neck.
