A good code scanner

What is a good code scanner to invest in? The $30 one at sears looks pretty cheap. I want a good quality one. What are some of you using?

I use an AutoXray. Yeah it's not 30 bucks but it helped me solve a 3 year old problem that the dealer couldn't even figure out. It was worth every penny and my friends all want to borrow it now.

I like my DIACOM for my laptop http://www.bb-elec.com/product.asp?s...00&dept_id=287 has them. Some people seem to have problems on some computers though.
