Harmonic Balancer

I have determined that the timng ring on my harmonic balancer has moved (which explains all the trouble with timing I was having!). I will probably never turn the engine over 6500.

Should I go back with a stock" OEM" type or go to an after market type?

Do the aftermarket do any better job in balancing?

Do aftermarket do better job of timing ring not slipping?

ANY advice, experiances or comments will be appreciated

I was in teh same dilemma (sp) I have a 350 TF heads 219 cam and SR and I said to myself. I dont beet on it or race it everyweekend. Prob mostly highway driving and 4-5 times at the track. I ended up with the Summit brand one for 58 bucks.

most of the aftermarket balancers have a fully numbered and fixed position cover so you dont have to worry about the ring slipping. if you have the money i would reccomend an sfi approved balancer.
