flowtech 1102 headers

first off these headers slipped right in without lifting the engine or anything. it would have been a 20minute project but a few defects. the first was the primaries merging into the collecter. i know these are small primaries but i couldnt pass up 80 bucks. it was a ****ty job of merging these primaries. i had to cut excess metal and poor cuts off inside the collector to clean them up. the second problem was the bolt holes on the headers. the welds were in the bolt holes so i had to hog those bad boys out. it ended up being a 1 and half to install but some flaws from the manufacturer i thought i would share. so if any of you are having a hard time starting your header bolts then look at the flanges. they may have excess metal in there from the welding. after i took the dremel to them they sliped right in and bolted up without a problem. oh yeah, the spark plugs actually have room to!!

The only thing I like about my flowtechs are plugs access and ease of fit. Everything on them quality wise is garbage. The flange was bent (as recieved) and so are the collectors (they refuse to seal). I can't wait for a different set.

I had no problems with my set. I have to drop them to get 2 plugs out with the Pro heads on now, but other than that they're fine. What did you expect for under a $100? You spent almost 2 hours to make them fit, but how much money did you save, $200, $300?
Downfall is they are small for larger cube applications.

oh i totally agree but some of the qualities i thought shouldnt be had with a product no matter its price like pluged bolt holes.

That I agree with it sounds like there is little to no quality control. I have some minor splatter in places and one tack is close to a flange bolt hole, but not enough to affect anything.

I had a problem with passanger side header #5 cylinder. It burned a hole right through where the pipe meats the flange and i had an exhaust leak. But then i recalled when i put that side on that there was a small scratch to that location and it must have burned a hole throught it.

Other side, I never had a problem with and the only good news is that the place that sold them offered me a Life Time Warranty on them.

Again you get what you pay for. If i had money money when i bought them i would go with a better quality headers and with a bigger primaries.

Can't complain for $100. Bought a set for my '88 when I had it. First thing I ever did to it. Picked up .4 at the track. Not bad for a $100 header. I was running a 350 btw, a little small for my motor, but again, $100 is cheap!

Mine did not but it may be time for new motor mounts. New mounts can make a lot of header swaps much easier.
