torque converter lockup

@ what mph should my torque converter lockup threshold be?

my car is a 88 GTA with LT1 swap 2400 stall 700r4 trans...... I'm talking about the ECM tables you can electronically set the torque converter lockup to where after a certain mph it is never unlocked again so my ? is would i run my 1/4 mile times faster if i locked the torque converter up early or if i leave it unlocked through the entire run?

usually lockup is acheived by pressure and not relied upon speed. At wot the torque converter and tranny is setup to not lockup under this situation unless you have modified your transmission of course

Leaving the convertor unlocked will allow you to achieve the best ET's, especially if you have a higher stall. The reason for leaving it unlocked is so that your convertor can flash up to the stall point everytime you shift. My car always locks my convertor when I shift from first to second, and it bogs down tremendously. For this reason, I wired a switch in the ground wire of my TCC, so that I can disable the lock-up whenever I want.
