i would hope so at that price

i wasnt really looking to spend that much on a distributor for this engine, since i am changing over to fuel injecton this winter so what ever distributor i get now wont work witht he new computer

xpndbl3, what makes the MSD billet ones better then the mallory? i really am just learning about what to look for in a distributor since last night.....when mine took a crap lol.
are the msd ones more accurate?

i wouldn't say more accurate, but at my old job their race car went through 6 or 7 mallory distributors within 3 months. no idea why, the MSD one we put on it now has lasted 2 years. I think the billet body looks nicer as well. Seems that quality control is hit or miss at mallory, might have been a really bad batch from the factory, not sure. This was the unilite model i believe.

Guess it depends on who's having a bad day ( manufacturer).
I've had a couple box failures with MSD and switched over to the Mallory.
For now, I'll stick with the Mallory pieces.

I don't know much about that Mallory distributor in particular, but I can definitely warn you guys to stay away from the Mallory Unilite that replaces the old points distributors. The modules go bad in them constantly, and the bad part is you can't just run down to the local parts store and get a new module to replace it with the same day. I also have a Mallory Hy-Fire amplifier box on my 69 Camaro with HEI, and all it does is take up space on the firewall since it died a long time ago. If I ever buy another amplifier box, I'm going to give the MSD 6A a shot, since you hear a lot more about them. BTW Pskel, I hope you're running an old style carbed motor, and not a computer controlled fuel injection setup as that distributor you posted uses vacuum for the advance mechanism instead of being controlled by the ecm.

after not being able to get a straight answer on any dist. i looked at, i just put in a gm replacement
