Pcmforless

Well, I told you all that I would getback to you withmy results from having dealed with PCMFRLESS.com here goes....

COmbo: SDPC 360 vortec/hot cam 350,SLP 1 3/4,azs&m runners, 24lbhr SVO

Pro Built trans- 2200 stall ACT converter

I had t send chip back and forth 3 times

1st time chips were programmd wrong and didn't work

2nd time TC lock up was way off- BLMs were between 108-119 throughout the different cells- so lock up was wrong and car ran pig rich

3rd time - tc locks up in 3rd gear @15mph- car is undriveable - Alvin said my trans is gone- this is bs

A member that went by Bort62 burnt me some chips for my oldcombo, never had the same problems

- right now I'm running the ARAP bin frm Bort62 with the corrected inj constant - this is the basic ARAP - this is the wrong chip for a vortec motor way too much timming and wrong fuel curves- the car runs so much better with the Bort62 ARAP chip (Which is a mismatch) than the PCMFORLESS Chip - also I have no converter lock up problems with my other chips

Alvin seems to be an amateur that charges like a professional- I feel totally ripped off- He had a crappy attitude when he is the one who is not performing-he has my money and have a worthless chip - he basiclly said it's my problem- I was way more than patient with this guy- Use PCMFORLESS at your own risk- this guy may be ok with the basic stuff- but he couldn't tune my simple combo- my trany and converter are fine- his chips are not.

fortunately in this months CHP(Chevy high perf.) they used a guy from Turbo city who is a local expert with vortecs and chip tuning to tune their "project 305" I wll be traveling up there next week to let them tune the car hands on ( they are about 100mi away) I'll let you all know how that turns out -

Buyer beware -PCMFORLESS- service sucked- chip did not work for me and no refund- I hear they are good with LT1's- but-I would recommend against them for chips- If Alvin stands up an gives me my money back- At least I will acknowledge them as a fair business- but as it stands - I threw away $130.00 for nothing

I should have listened to other members who warned against "mail order" chips-

ps - this has been over 2 1/2 months from when I ordered the chip- that next day turn arround on there website is crap!- Pease don't get the chips confused with the LT1 tuning - I hear the owner- Brian Herder- is good at what he does

Yup, no suprise.
Sorry you got ripped off but like I and many have said; You don't get what you pay for with eproms! You DIY and you get results that can be tuned to near perfection, not just "good enough."

You are correct,

But I did go to Tom Miller @ Turbo City, now the car runs great. His tuning is perfect, way better than I could have done with my own equipment if I had it. The Car almost burned an 03' M3, runs awesome overall. Driveability is excellent. Tom Miller checked the PCMFORCRAP chip and said it was burnt incorrectly/files were corrupted as delivered. And Tom Miller said himself you can't get that kind of result with a unique combo with a mail order chip. He is a first class tuner in my opinion(not that it means anything but Chevy high performance agrees with me)

Thanks for the comment

Just for giggles, u do realize Chevy Hi Po or whatever mag, makes whoever helps them with the story or parts look great all the time :-) lol

Any chip being done thru the amil, will result in many many many retries before u will be happy with it. If that is the route people choose to go, i do recommend finding someone with experience and willing to work with u and work it out on the street after the dyno.

Learn to do it yourself, its cheaper and far more rewarding since u dont have to depend on anyone else

later
